Investing for Physicians

Deal flow validated by domain experts in healthcare, life sciences, and AI.

Investing for physicians usually means index funds, real estate and the practice itself. The LSM Group adds a different option: an invitation-only syndicate for accredited investors that brings early-stage healthcare, AI and life sciences companies to the people who understand them best. Membership is free, and you decide company by company whether to participate.

Why now

Why Physician Investors See What Others Miss

Healthcare technology is tested in clinics before it is tested in markets. Physicians are the first to see whether a diagnostic is reliable, whether an AI tool saves time or adds clicks, and whether patients keep using a therapy after the first month.

Generalist investors try to model that from the outside. Physician investors have already watched it happen at the bedside.

The workflow

First to test

Clinicians use new tools in real care before anyone else. You can tell a product that fits clinical reality from one that only works in a demo.

The regulation

Approval to adoption

You understand why clearance, reimbursement and adoption take as long as they do, and what slows a company down along the way.

The patients

After month one

You see which problems are worth solving, and whether patients keep using a therapy once the novelty wears off.

That clinical judgment often decides whether a health technology company succeeds, yet the people who hold it are rarely in the room when these companies raise capital — a gap The LSM Group was built to close.

Your clinical judgment already shapes which companies succeed. Now it can shape where you invest.

Most physician investing follows the same pattern: retirement accounts, public markets, real estate and the practice. Membership adds a different kind of investing for doctors: access to private healthcare companies, at no cost and with no obligation to invest. For women physicians, it is a natural starting point for investing for women in early-stage healthcare: your clinical judgment counts from the first presentation, whether or not you have invested in private companies before.

Validated Deal Flow

Each company that reaches you has passed a domain expert panel first. Companies that fail that review never reach the network.

The Signal Report

The expert’s written assessment travels with the opportunity, so you are reading an evaluation rather than building one.

Deal Preview Events

Founders present to the network and take questions directly. Domain experts are in the room and ask the hard ones.

Quarterly Sector Letters

How we read healthcare, AI and life sciences each quarter. No pitches.

The differentiator

Investing for Physicians, Built Around Expert Review

Each company is matched to a domain expert in its exact category: an operator who has run a diagnostics business, a clinician who has carried a therapeutic through approval, a specialist who has deployed AI in a regulated setting. That expert writes a Signal Report, and the network reads it alongside the opportunity.

Signal Reports are shared openly with the network, so each expert’s judgment is on the record.

Process

How Investing With The LSM Group Works

Physician and investment team reviewing a company together
Before it reaches you
  1. 01

    Identification

Companies are sourced through the network, not from inbound decks.

  2. 02

    Domain Expert Review

A specialist in that exact category assesses the company and writes the Signal Report.

  3. 03

    Exit Path Mapping

We map who realistically acquires a company like this, and at what stage, before anyone invests.

  4. 04

    Follow-On Check

We confirm whether credible investors are positioned to fund the next round.

Your decision
  1. 05

    Presentation

The company presents to the network and takes questions. You receive the Signal Report at the same time.

  2. 06

    Opt In or Out

Answer yes or no after the presentation. Opting in brings you the written terms, not a commitment.

  3. 07

    Portfolio Updates

If you invest, reporting on your companies sits in one place on the investment platform.

What the network includes

What Membership Looks Like Month to Month

Membership is not a mailing list. Here is what a typical cycle looks like.

01

The Invitation

One to two times a month, members are invited to a live company presentation. You get the date in advance and attend the ones that interest you.

02

The Signal Report

Before or during the presentation you receive the expert’s written assessment of the company.

03

Your answer

After the presentation we ask every member for a yes or a no. Saying no takes one click and needs no explanation.

04

The written terms

Members who say yes receive the details by email: the pitch deck, the investor memo and what the company is raising. You confirm your accredited investor status once.

05

Your portal

If you invest, subscription documents, company reporting and tax forms sit in one secure portal.

Why you

Three Reasons Physicians Join This Network

01

You Already Know This Market

You see which devices actually get used, which workflows waste an hour a day, and which therapies patients abandon. Generalist investors model that from the outside. Members with deep expertise may be invited onto the domain expert panel for companies in their field.

02

Diversification Outside the Practice

Most physician wealth sits in the practice, public markets and real estate, all moving on cycles you do not control. Private healthcare companies sit in a different part of the market, and you choose each position individually.

03

Access to Private Healthcare Companies

Members review revenue-generating companies, specialty pharmaceutical assets with validated clinical data, and applied AI in regulated environments — sourced through relationships. Membership opens that door, and it is free.

Questions

Everything Physicians Ask Before Applying

An accredited investor is a person the SEC considers financially able to take on the risk of private investments: for example, someone with income above $200,000 in each of the past two years ($300,000 with a spouse or partner) and the same expected this year, a net worth over $1 million excluding their primary home, or a Series 7, 65 or 82 license in good standing. The LSM Group network is open to accredited investors, and because the SEC can update these thresholds, the application always carries the current definition.

This page is for informational purposes only. It is not investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security. Any offering is made only to accredited investors through definitive offering documents. Private investments are illiquid, involve a high degree of risk, and may result in the total loss of invested capital. Past performance does not indicate future results.
